Floating Islands and Chickens

Today I saw Jérôme, which was much needed and went by way too fast. Today was a good day though when I got home. No activities for the kiddies today, which is a relief. When they each got home, they had gôuter (snack—literally means to taste), then I sent them straight to do hw and practice their instruments. After it was each individual English lesson, which went well. I taught the girl to starve and the boy to wipe; the words, sounds funny when you read that haha.

Then I made a tomato salad with a feta-like cheese; super yummy! And we had Chinese cabbage and bacon for diner. For dessert, we had les îles flottantes. Picture below. It is a crème anglaise with floating islands on top (whipped egg whites pretty much). So good! A few weeks ago, I had this dessert when I had lunch with Jérôme, so it was cool to have it home-made. I first had it during my study abroad trip last summer as a group meal though. Brings back memories!

Tomorrow is Friday, yayyy! Although as for tomorrow night, I don’t know what I am doing, and I am stressing. It is hard finding people to hang out with here. Everyone I know lives outside the city uhg. I need to find plans for tomorrow night because Jérôme is doing work stuff. I wish I lived in the city. Life would be easier, but oh well that is life.

Les îles flottantes (floating islands). We made this dessert tonight. Crème anglaise (makes me miss Flying Biscuit!) with les blancs en neige (white snow-- puffy egg whipped thing).

Whole chicken I bought last week I think. When I say whole, I mean whole haha..

  1. I now remember why I don't like cooking...I'm not a fan of eating something that looks at me.
