Rant

Ok so I mentioned I showered tonight. I had to shave, so I took a while. I am never allowed this luxury in the morning because I have a time frame to shower in. One night a week, I shower at night, so I can actually shave. Since I wear pants all the time, I don't shave often now. Sorry maybe too much info.

Well I was just in the office room printing stuff to play Scattergories with the kids tomorrow as an English lesson, and the dad walks in with some presentation saying how Americans use the most water per year than any other country and proceeds to make me feel like shit an awkward because I took too long of a shower and most of the hot water for his shower.

I just know that after his shower, while I was in the office, he looked up a presentation to shove in my face about Americans sucking and water consumption. Well maybe this is why French smell bad. It is a stereotype, but you know what? It is true. Americans don't smell. We take decent showers.

I honestly didn't know what to say to him. I couldn't explain that I only take a long shower once a week to shave. So he just thinks I am a greedy, don't give a crap about the world American. He told me water is really expensive here too. He def made me feel like shit, and that pisses me off. He does it in a way smiling and joking and all friendly, so I can't be offended. Oh but I am.

He is a great guy, don't get me wrong. But he just approaches how to "down talk" me wrong I think. Like I am a seven year old or something; trying to teach me a lesson. I just don't appreciate how he classified all Americans as wasting water because I really am a green person, way before it was a fad. It bothers me he is assuming who and what I am as an American. Whatever... I do that to French people too I guess.

Done ranting.

On a lighter note... Jérôme just called me, and we just had an entire conversation (it was like 2 minutes) in French. Yay for me. French over the phone is even harder, so I am proud!
